Little Lives Small Animal Rescue was founded in July 2016 with one simple goal: to give small animals the second chance they deserve. What started as a personal mission to help small animals in need, quickly turned into a full-fledged rescue effort when we noticed just how many animals in our community were being abandoned, neglected, or mistreated.

We are proud to be one of the first small animal rescues in the Pacific Northwest, and currently the only one serving the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas. With the support of our community, we’ve grown faster than we ever imagined.

Our mission is twofold:

  • To find loving, permanent homes for small animals rescued from abuse, neglect, or abandonment.

  • To educate the public on responsible small animal care and the importance of preventing overpopulation through spaying and neutering.

Whether you choose to adopt, foster, donate, or simply share our mission, thank you for believing in the value of the work we do and lives we are committed to helping.

Little Lives is a foster-based rescue with no physical shelter or location. Every animal in our care lives in a home environment with a dedicated foster, where they receive individualized attention, socialization, and any necessary medical care until they’re ready for adoption.

We rely entirely on volunteers, donations, and community support to keep going. From transportation and fundraising to cleaning cages and hosting adoption events, every part of our rescue is powered by people who care.

Because we focus on small animals such asrabbits, guinea pigs, rodents, reptiles, and birds, many of our intakes require specialized care, and we work closely with trusted veterinarians to provide the best possible outcomes.

We don’t just rescue, we also educate. A huge part of our mission is helping people understand the needs of small animals and promoting responsible pet ownership. Small animal husbandry and best practices are constantly evolving, which is why our mission to educate is so important. Many of the cages, diets, and accessories sold in pet stores are actually inadequate or harmful.

We strive to provide current, evidence-based guidance to help pet owners give their animals the best life possible.
